Hi all! I've been struggling for hours online to identify this pin I found today. I'm assuming it's some kind of military pin. But the different online designations--crest, insignia, seal, badge, distinctive unit insignia, medals, etc. is driving me bonkers. And I'm not getting luck on trying different keywords for image searches. So, here it is:

In the middle I thought was a trident, but it has four strands so more like a broom. In the left corner seems a screaming monkey. On top seems either a roman helmet with red feather, or a gold thimble, or a bell.

The back says "G23 IRA GREEN INC.". Seems G23 is for military heraldry (another term that sends me on a goosechase), and Ira Green is a big manufacturer of these pins. I've searched their website but they're currently not offering this particular pin.

Anyway it's really gorgeous and I'd love to identify what unit or branch it denotes.

Mail IRA Green the pic and let them do the work? :)

Re: Unknown military pin

Great detective work, Willy D. I think we can color this one as 'mystery solved'.

Hmm not really. Inquisitive minds need to know the significance of the broomstick! ???
