Possibly a perfume bottle top from Melba Manufacturing Co.

Found quite a few references to the company, but no pics thus far.

Drgrip, I think you pinned down the company. These stoppers were still around a few decades ago for some aftershaves like "royal lyme" which used the pewter and cork stopper. You can still see the cork on this dug example.

4-H-----I have a couple of these things too, but mine have different names on them--Kerkoff and Wirz Inc. The Wirz has a Pat. #5125115 and was made in Chester, PA.
Are these things perfume stoppers or lids? Both of mine are about the size of a nickel maybe a little larger.

I do believe that these items are some sort of stopper or closure. http://www.google.com/patents?q=wirz+inc.&btnG=Search+Patents The patent number of 5125115 must be wrong though, because patents with that large of numbers are more recent, say 1990s.

Kerkoff also made perfume in the late 1800s to early 1900s.

Looking for an example of the bottle toppers but coming up short thus far.
