If an experienced relic hunter tells you they "have a feeling" about a site,.. listen to them. Thanks to the generosity of hutsite digger, we made a nice find this past weekend. After digging out a couple hutsites he suggested moving to an area where wagons were known to have moved through carrying supplies and evacuating wounded. I must admit after about an hour of excavating a ten foot square area I had my doubts. He however was confident and persisted. We were rewarded by a very nice signal in the corner of this pit which contained a part of a Tompion, a badly bent New York coat button face, a couple large rivets and the best part of all, a tourniquet buckle with "Kolby" stamped in the side. I was able to find a page from an old surgery text which clearly shows how it was used! I am very grateful to hutsite digger and hope to have an opportunity to repay his generosity
