Unusual find... error???

The other day, I found an unusual wheat penny... The year is 1946.

The obverse(front) is in good shape(condition of most circulated pennies are from late 40's)...
The reverse(back) nearly blank/worn smoothe...

I can not post pictures at this time, camera is broken.

Could this be a pissible error? or has someone worn down the reverse smoothe?

I am no expert on penny errors(let alone normal ones)... but seems that this could be an error...

any suggestions?
