Last year the U.S. Mint made an enhanced uncirculated coin set celebrating their 225th anniversary. Didn't even know this set existed... Until today that is.

I picked up $50 in cwr halves and found a few 40% in great shape, even an '65 sms needed for the album. Also mixed in were a few 2016 and 2017 p & d halves and a 2013 s clad proof. Figured someone was cracking open some mint sets to cash out (yes going back tomorrow to buy up the other denoms)

Then out pops this beauty...

Pretty neat find, in excellent shape. Hopefully I'll find the rest of his family :laughing7:

Cool.
That thing is Sharpe.

I haven't CRH in a while, but this makes me want to do it again!

In my last two boxes I have found many 2017s They were all normal U.S.Mint poor quality coins. Also probably 10-15% were casino slot machine coins. (very smooth rims)

Curious as I know nothing of this, but what would that be worth?

The set sells for about $30. I checked a few sold listings on eBay and the half is going for about $10 on its own ungraded.

Zo, is it Ag or clad? It sure is pretty! My last couple boxes had a bunch of 17's. Maybe I'll recheck them. Haven't dumped them yet. Thanks for the post

It's clad. Best I can describe it that it looks frosted. The raised lettering is proof like.

Zomo: that sure is a very good looking coin. Put it into a 2x2 flip right away. Nice.

That is a good find. I purchased a set last year from the US mint. Hard to believe someone would just dump it at the bank but it just goes to show you how this stuff gets out there.

For those that like this stuff there is a reverse silver proof set now available that I got last week. Excellent set. I buy a few US Mint items now and then but the mark-up is pretty high. I don't mind as anything I get from there is from CRH profits.
