Hello everyone! I’ve not been out much but I did get out Tuesday and found this weird looking relic at my 1830s fort site. For whatever reason it reminds me of a musical instrument piece. The close lateral photo shows an engraved XVIIII which may be a misrepresentation of the Roman numeral 19.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Great knowing what it is...and it makes sense now. Bet it was played at camp
Hey Village. I’m sure it was. The 2nd dragoons regimental band was stationed at that fort. Thanks for replying. I’m still waiting on that other property to open up. Relics are getting scare there with my detector. Until it opens up I may dig a few pits to see what I can get😀
