this is a relatively recent (80s or later) art deco style piece. these were made by a few companies in france (for example google catherine popesco deco brooch). they are silver plated metal with a kind of vintage looking finish. the giveaway is the front. these deco inspired pins almost always have colored enamel and crystals under a thick layer of acrylic material. true art deco pieces were never made this way. most or all of these piece also use the old style trombone catch. i am not sure if these were intended to deceive, or just made as fashion pieces, as art deco enjoyed a revival in a lot of '80s jewelry. some are signed and some are not.

Thank you for the details. Interestingly, unlike most pieces I buy, I still have this pin. I simply love it too much.
