Just got the results of my 2nd. biopsy. Good news and bad news. Bad news first, very low grade cancer was found in the very bottom of the tumor. Now the good news, when they removed it, they also scraped the bladder lining, and said they got it all....PTL! :hello2:. But, just in case, the Dr. wants me to come back every 2 months this year, then every 6 months, then 1 time every 2 years, to make sure it doesn't return. He said to do indiscriminate injections of chemicals into my bladder, would do me more harm than good. The only way to check on it is with his instrument of male anatomy torture device....The cystoscope! I guess most of this year I will be wearin' a bag. Sure glad I don't do beer, would be fun for a NASCAR fan, just a couple trips to the bathroom for a whole race to empty the bag :laughing7: Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes everyone, I'll still need them so this lil monster never rears its ugly head again...........NGE

Well NGE, this is good & bad news in a way. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts & prayers. Oh, the book I mentioned to you, hopefully your diabetic educator or dietitian will have one for you. Just ask.

Hey NGE - my mom (80) is going on year 6 since they 1st detected and treated for bladder cancer. Thy did the scrape thing, and also dosed her bladder with a "cocktail" a couple times. Has had clean reports since.

Best wishes - will keep you in our thoughts

Unfortunately for my mom, it was detected too late! Hers showed up as a super mass in her bladder, it had already eaten beyond her bladder to all her reproductive organs. Many, many mega doses of chemo later, they killed the cancer! She had already had a quad by-pass 14 years prior, and had a somewhat weak heart. The Dr.'s knew that she was a goner and figured that they could make more money and did a total historectomy, removed her vagina, bladder and anything else not needed to sustain life, there was a DNR (do NOT resusitate) on her, but guess what, when we got the "Call" they were doing CPR on her, the greedy S.O.B.'s :icon_pirat:. Mine was caught in its infant stages PTL! Thanks for all continued prayers...........NGE
