Ok was kinda hot for detecting today so we decided to take my sifter/shake box that I made a few months backs to the old landfill where we dig bottles from time to time. Our plans were to sift all the tailing piles left behind by the bottle hunters. Well for starters it rained just before we got to landfill so it was pretty humid out. Anyway on to how we did first shovel full we got a nice glass stopper which is what we expected to get alot of. However we only ended up with 5. So about 8-10 shovels in a penny sized green disc falls from the shovel this turned out to be a 1907 Indian. So we haven't been there 20 mins and were thinking this is gonna be awsome. Well things slowed down alot after that our next good find is a half dollar sized token which is caked and getting a vinegar bath as I type this. Will post pics of it after its cleaned up. As far as the rest of the finds a wheatie I think can barely make out the shape of Lincolns head, 1 clay marble, 1 compact in good shape has a floral design and LUXOR on it, 1 spoon that I believe I broke with the shovel a few other odds and ends that will need cleaned and some copper for the scrap bucket.
Cleaned the token and it's pretty toasted but I can read it enough to tell what it is/was. The one pictured is a 5 cent version and mine is the 25 cent.
