ok here they are its gonna take longer to clean them than I thought so here is a quick shot of them.
I still have lots of cleaning and ID'ing to do

1 unknown
1 KG II 173O
1 KG III 1766 Hybenia copper
5 KG III coppers 1775,1787 3 No Dates so far
2 NEW Jersey coppers N/D's
1 1833 half cent
3 draped bust LC 1797,1798, and yes!!!!! "1799" very bad shape I already emailed a copper collector who told me it was in such bad shape it may be worth $20.00 oh well
4 LC 1812,1827,1837,1838

lots of artifacts and over 30 buttons my son got sick and starting having dry heaves so we had to leave this spot is gonna produce some amazing finds. every 1 ft. was a good hit it was amazing.

after i get everything together I'll get better pics to post I took some pics in the field finding them. jd

this is how I found it its just a regular field I've done many around here always get 1-3 coins each but I'm in shock over this one. I wont be able to sleep tonight My son and I were driving and I took him to a boy scout meeting and we were driving home and I saw a field with some of the old phone lines with glass insulators still on them we stopped to find some around the pole and the old farmer stopped and talked to us I said I would love to detect the field and he said go ahead have fun first hit was a button, second hit was a button, 3rd hit was a LC, and I havnt even gone 2 ft yet into the field. 2 pulltabs the whole time

Congrats on the nice finds jd! I am definitely envious of your "treasures" over the last year or so!

My question is, how are you cleaning the coins. Are you just soaking them? Do you use electrolysis on something this old? Just curious.

if they have a date I dont clean them other than water, or sometimes olive oil, if they are beat and have no ID'ing features I electrolysis the heck out of them I have been able to ID every single blank coin Iv. found so far

I will post the new finds soon a friend and I went back today and found some of the first silver coins from the spot along with more coppers. jd

Gr8, Silver Is always cool to find .I just love the way it comes up ,Can't wait to see the pics 'I was hunting last weekend & i dug up a 1853 3 cent peice.I cant belive I found something so small & at 6 inches deep.Well thanks again for sharing all your finds with us & keep it up ..good luck..Marc.
