I am new to coin roll hunting, so try not to laugh. What do you mean when you say "4 boxes come in tommorrow?" Do you ask your local bank to order them for you if they dont have them?

We were all newbies at one time, me too, just started around Christmas.
You are right about the boxes. Most banks do not inventory halves, nobody wants them but us. They cost $500 and contain $500 in halves. They also weigh 25 pounds :P

Get in the good graces with a bank and order through them but never return the rejects to them for two reasons. 1) you will quickly be disliked 2) you will probably start getting your already searched coins back again.

I have one bank that orders two boxes every week for me without me even having to ask and two tellers save all their halves and Ike dollars for me.

My father loves coins. He buys one roll at a time dimes or nickels. He needs to buy much more. Im trying to get him started in this hobby. He is over 80, and he loves to search coins with his magnifying glass. I told him if he doesnt have the $500, I will lend it to him. It costs nothing, right?
