Hey everyone, first post here, very recently started the life, and I found these 2 today on a hunt near castleton on the hudson around where 1600s dutch settlers landed. The one that looks like a doorbell ringer is heavy, maybe lead or steel? The little circle thing is copper im pretty sure from a part i see thats scratched up. No idea what they could be, no markings I could see. Thanks for taking a look 🙂

The round piece with a bar looks like a clock/large watch escapement.

Yea I can see that after a quick google of your suggestion, it must be pretty old, only one i saw online so far without gear like edges was an antique platform escapement, good eye!

The other piece may be a lead bale seal.

Indeed, it looks kinda like a railroad one which could make sense, tracks right next door to me...just wish it had markings still

The round wheel looks more like a watch or small clock balance wheel missing the hairspring, roller table, and staff. Maybe from a cheap dollar watch? Just my 2 cents worth. I also agree with a bale seal on the other one.

Look at flat round sinkers.Fishing weight.for the lead one.

I think you may be right, looks like a vintage pocket watch balance wheel, was about 3-4 inches down in rocky ground. Thank you everyone for your experience, hope to find more soon but the headphone jack is messed up on my detector
