Was up hiking in the hillside with the eurotek and got a decent signal. Digging down I found a yellow silk cloth.
Inside was a golden urn.

It looks like a urn or offering.

It was quite heavy, but not gold.
Inside were many polished semi precious stones including some pearls.
Also was a copper rod wrapped in silk and a small bag of what looked like rice

I showed my wife and she insisted I rebury it. So I did. Very interesting and strange since I was in a random, isolated place.
Also found some old coins from 1940-1960s

I too would say it's an urn -

R U still offering pot? :tongue3:

Amazing that the silk cloth was so clean, I think it was very nice that you and your wife put it back. I guess you two must figure it was buried as a "remembrance" to someone that has passed. Sort of a memorial? It would be tempting to take the little treasure. If I found it in random woods here in the USA it would have come home with me, Of course my understanding of it would have been much different from yours. I'm glad now that you found it and not me.

Burial urn. My wife found one at Tybee one night at a very low tide. Still had the Dude in it. I threw it back out as far as I could!! Tony

Nice digs. That a nice looking URN. Thanks for the pic's.

Either... Doesn't matter. You did the right thing by reburying it.
