I feel really stupid sometimes, I only just finished reading the thread about the gold Ostby & Barton cameo ring, and still didn't realise the makers name on my ring.

Here are the sides, one side has more wear, that leads me to think it was worn as a pinkie ring. Fits my pinkie perfectly too.

It could be a sweetheart ring. The soldier would have given it to his mother, girl friend or wife as the case may be.
