Use of a military standard

Never had a problem with ticks but have had problems with chiggers bad. What I do in bad area's is duck tape my pants tight around my boots at ankles. Then soak pants from knees down with bug spray. That seemed to help a lot with the chiggers problem. The duct tape might help with the tick problem. Or tuck pants in side boots like military style.

Helix....the military do not tuck pants in boots. This is what the blousing straps do. They make it look like they are tucked in. Basically they are stretch bands with little hooks on each end worn on the inside of the pants legs . It's like making a cuff on the bottom of your pants but tucked inside instead of on the outside. The whole idea of blousing was to keep insects out of the soldiers' pant legs and to keep them from getting caught on things.

I second that OD... God, I hated those things.

I tuck my pants in my boots....the ticks that will get ya can be small you would never notice them on your legs.....and they would love the open invitation shorts provide...to a home that would make them quite happy.

Living and hunting small game on Long Island all my life. Ticks are a BIG problem here! I have tried everything! Duct tape is your best friend. Tuck your pants legs into your boots and wrap with duct tape. And a lady friend at home to check you from head to toe once you get home.
