While in Boston over the weekend I stopped by the USS Constitution Museum owned by the National Park Service. Got some great photos. Lot of stuff from the War Of 1812 the forgotten war. You can view the ship for free! however, if you want to go on it you have to go through basically AirPort style security (body scans, metal detectors, etc) and wait in a 40 minute line. So I just decided too go to the Museum and take photos.

Nice shots (love the firearms) - thanks for sharing HutSiteDigger.

Thanks VPNavy!

Yeah it's a cool exhibition!! Sadly back in the early 1900s when the first restoration of Old Ironsides was done almost all of her original armament was sold off to fund the restoration, Cannons, boarding pikes, cutlasses were all still there and original at the time but were all sold. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was to not spend more than I could afford at the time at an auction (about 20 years back) to buy one of two original boarding pikes from the Constitution with positive documentation that were up for sale.
