Deep in the canyon country of the American Southwest, miles from anywhere, I found it. The hideout of the infamous Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch. All that was left of his cabin was a stone hearth rising up from the desert floor, the letters RR for Robbers Roost shot into the cliff, and what I thought were his stables…except something seemed off.I checked my drone footage when I got home, and found something I missed: an even older corral hidden in the bushes, dark and difficult to see from the weather and age. I hopped back on Google Earth and scoured the area for what else I might have missed, and that’s when I found a second cabin. Its location didn’t make any sense, and the possibility of a second hideout came to mind.I packed up my Jeep, grabbed my dog, and headed back into the desert. It’s early February and temperatures are still freezing. There’s snow on the ground, and clear skies make for seriously cold nights. I visit the stone hearth, locate the original stables used by the outlaws when they were on the run, and search for the second cabin…but what I found just didn’t make sense. You’re going to have to see this one to believe it.Regarding This Specific Location: I found the hearth by a combination of research, Google Earth, and tips from some people who confirmed that it's Butch Cassidy's. The rest I found with Google Earth and drone footage
