Nice, those are interesting looking...I'm not sure if any counterfeit V nickels were made but those are interesting regardless

Its weird to me how the outline of the face stands out so much. I have dug some of those in really bad shape but they never stood out like those.. May be a possible counterfeit? Good ones either way!

nope they are real. heavy fertilizer in this area. these were about 9 -10 inches down a lot of good coins have come from this same place going back to 1827. also found some civil war buttons just a few feet away.

Yeah it's too bad they don't survive better, nice find nonetheless

I was thinking the same thing, the look funky.
And I'd much rather find a counterfeit V than the real thing.
