Anybody need some tips on these places...pm me. The 750 stamp means 18K Italian gold thanks for looking. The piece of metal next the coin from Australia tests positive for silver. I went through three making soda and aluminum catalysts at high heat just to get it to look that like. I think is a piece of an old Spanish coin. Anybody got any ideas?

The 750 isn't just for Italian 18K, it is internationally used for 18K just like 925 is internationally used for sterling. Nice finds, and the silver piece does look like a partial ancient Spanish coin. Can we see closer photos of it??

Sure, I've been polishing it with vinegar. My wife does the camerawork and she is putting the baby down. I'll get them up later tonight.

Okay, this is the piece polished and as close as the wife could get. I also included the only surviving piece of metal off an oblong object if anybody recognizes it.

Nice finds thanks for sharing.. Glad you had some success with the detector on vacation..

Crispin....very nice finds.

Are both rings gold?

That may be a Spanish cob....keep us posted if you find out anything more info about it.

Nice finds Crispin! I am inclined to think the silver piece is part of a coin as well. Glad you had a great time!

If you click on the pictures you should be able to see the inside of the ring. The one on the left is 18k white gold and the one on the right is plat5+. Any ideas where I can find more out about if it is a Spanish cob? All I know how to do is clean things up, lol.

Crispin, have you tried contacting Mel Fishers outfit? They might be able to positively ID it for you.

Never heard of him. How would I get in touch with him?

You did well in those areas, glad no one beat you to those nice finds. Congrats

Nice digs bud.
