Van Lott

Here is a Van Lott we found about 3 weeks ago broke the tip off with the shovel. It was only about a foot down.
This makes no since to most as these should be about 5 to 6 feet down in our area.
But we know the area was bull dozed so there are no woodland stuff above the find.
It is all pushed down below the ridge we were working thats why we broke it.
Did not expect it to be so high in the matrix. Almost no pottery in the sifter but lots of white flakes.
Found in Bamberg, SC
It's not perfect (we broke it) but about the oldest stuff we can find other than a Clovis.
8500 to 9900 BP. No COA but I found it!
We have 3 of them now.

We never find anything on the surface. I have deer hunted this site for almost 30 years and found one point and 2 pieces of pottery. It is in a cow pasture and it never gets plowed. So the only way to find anything here is to dig.

We have 2 others that are complete just feel so bad we broke it!
On the repair I'm not sure we have many broken points but have never done that.

These are native to GA,SC and NC. The bevel is really nice on these points it's what make them different.
They are related to taylor's.

I've never had work done on any broken pieces either. Either way, Whatever you do with them they're a great addition to your collection! HH!

Beautiful! Seeing what you find in your digs makes me want to dig up my pasture, I'm just not sure where I would begin.
