The Tejon manual states the when the vco knob is clicked CCW the tone will be louder the closer a target is to the coil and smaller or deeper targets will give a lower volume tone.
Then it states when you click CW the vco mode will no longer operate. Does this mean that all targets will have the same volume regardless of depth?

mag,

When the Tone control is clicked in the the CCW position, the All Metal mode uses a VCO audio.
VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) provides a pitch change as well as a loudness change. You will get a louder audio and greater VCO pitch change the closer the coil is to the target, and a weaker audio and less VCO pitch change on the farthest (deepest) targets from the coil.

Once you click out of the VCO setting into All Metal , you can vary the tone pitch or audio frequency to your personal preference.

When out of the VCO function, the Tejón, will give a strong audio response on targets down to a percentage of their overall depth range, or "saturation point"
