Do you think the green material in the stone is from plant stains or a mineral? I can't really tell

I'd say mineral.

What kind of mineral do you think it could be? It came from a quartz vein in mica shist. Epidote? Diopside?

Kryptonite? Where is Superman when you need him? Looks like an algae that has been crystallized/fossilized to me.... Where was this recovered?

On the surface of a quartz stringer. You may be right. I never thought of Kryptonite.
