it appears to be copper or a similar metal alloy. Were reales silver?Nice find!!! it looks like a reale to me...maybe a 1/2 reale!?
Its a king George copper. Not US. Great colonial find!

Counterfiet (most likely) although maybe regal George III Halfpenny, circa 1775.
