It definitely has the physical attributes for a coin weight, but there do not appear to be any markings to validate that.

The portcullis (grate) is a Tudor symbol. I'd guess a British coin of some type.

I can't find anything close to yours - here's an example.

Elizabeth+I,+Portcullis+money,+4-Testerns.webp

Going by the thickness I'd guess some type of Jeton. (English token).

I also agree British coin weight...only thing I can add is that I think I see a '6' above the porticullius
