Found this yesterday, it's a Vesica Seal... possibly 13thC but that's a guess really.

Does anyone know what it says, I can't work it out.

Any help appreciated [emoji106] 20201108_080940.jpg 20201108_080932.jpg 20201108_080949.jpg

Yes, 12–13th, you might try pressing it into some kind of playdoh or soft putty, don’t use soft wax as it will probably stick to it. Probably written in Latin. Also, if you shine a light like a flashlight across the side it should help to enhance the legend and Image. I wouldn’t clean it, I damaged a nice seal once trying to clean it up. Nice find, HH

Yes circa 13th C.

Tough to read anti-clock-wise in retro, but something like this-

CER.V??[???????]IO.HIS

Can't make any sense of it, could be French Latin as well as any other version of the language.

But they tend so start with SIGIL, meaning 'Seal of', and shorted to S'.
(dots break up words/names, often stating a first name son of first name)

Just have to bed in & clear it. Thankfully, most of our green waste fields are not topped up every year, so we can make a dent in it over time.
