video camera suggestions?

We just purchased a used go pro hero 3 and love it. Compact,a waterproof housing , a gaggle of mounts to choose from so you can video hands free. I seen this video on you tube . Shows the durability .

I am looking at a Kodak Playsport ZX5 right now.
I did a few days of comparing cheap camcorders that can take a decent abuse online, and this is what I'm hoping to buy soon. It takes 1080p, has a nice zoom, and there are actually some videos on youtube of them in use while metal detecting. Search "metal detect kodak playsport" and you should get a number of results. There are 2 versions, the zx3 and the zx5, the zx5 is newer.

I'd go with the gopro, but I'm cheap, and this one seems pretty nice.

I'm also l@@king for a decent video camera that takes great close-up shots of small items like coins when you're recording video. It seems like a lot of the ones out there can't focus well on small relics.
