Picked up this gray wool bomber jacket today that appears to be military or red cross in nature. The reason I say military is the epaulets and the slightest hint of where a name tape may have once been stitched above the left breast pocket. I may have overpaid at $10, but the jacket is in fantastic condition. It has a nice satin lining and even the pocket edges are trimmed with satin. It is a short jacket with a banded waistband, and unfortunately the only interior tag simply reads '50'. It is clearly not a US men's size 50. European? Does anyone recognize this style of jacket, or perhaps the buttons? Thanks in advance!

I'd say its a Swiss military jacket of some type.

Looks sort of like the US Ike jackets of WWII to a degree.

Thank you leadnbrass. After you pointed me in the right direction, I did some additional research and am now in agreement that the coat is Swiss. I appreciate the help.

$10 bucks is not overpaying at all. Cool post WWII Swiss jacket.
