violet-green swallows

Their house is on my front porch. Pics were taken from a bathroom window, and slightly opened front door. I have been trying to get shots for a while now, they are fast! Yes I wish they wouldn't poop all over their doorway....but....
I actually thought about cleaning up a bit, at night, to provide cleaner pictures. I don't really want to disturb them though.

They are great "insect eradicators" We have an old well house that we left just for the bats, It's great having very few mosquitoes.

Violet-green swallows may be the same thing as Vaux Swifts, Oregon Viking. During late summer the faux swifts congregate by the thousands in an old Portland elementary school chimney (Chapman School) just before migrating. See ​[h=3]Vaux's Swift Watch - Audubon Society of Portland[/h]
