Virgil's Day, Hungary - Garryson found a WWI garrison cap badge
Today was a beautiful day (17 C°)
This is a field garrison cap worn by enlisted ranks of the Austrian Army in World War I (1914-1918).
The cap is made from green wool and features a small badge on the front.
The badge is brass and contains the cypher of Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I (FJI).
Austrian units wore the "FJI" cypher, while Hungarian units wore "IFJ".
It was only about 4 inches deep.
Thanks for looking!
