Hello Everyone. I’m off on my annual Virginia metal detecting trip. Today is day two and likely my last day. I’ve got a few buttons so far. Yesterday I dug a general service cuff button which was a nice surprise. The home and farm is very late 1700s so most of the buttons are flatties.
I need some help from the Button experts out there. About an hour ago I pulled a flat button with a nice eagle on the front of it. I can’t remember seeing this one before.The button is very small. Any help on it would be appreciated.

Great group of very old buttons. I hope they can be IDd and you will share that information with us. There might be some detail, dates or lettering on some of them.

I’ve identified the flat eagle button. It’s an Eagle Jacksonian button with a missing rim. Thanks to William Leigh.
