Most of these were from the trash pits that we dug back in the late 1980s. The close up picture shows periwinkle shells, turkey beak, bear teeth, carbonized acorns and nut shells and other small bones. This is typical trash pit stuff. I could have filled barrels full of periwinkles.

One person's trash is another person's treasure. Thanks for sharing.

I have been collecting indian artifacts for years but could only dream of finding that much at once.

Those are great looking pieces Steve. Looks like typical trash pit pieces. It always amazed me how many really nice pieces you could find in a trash pit. I wonder if the got tossed in accidentally. I don't see any Beads. Did you ever find Beads in yours?

Here's a couple of trays that I rescued from a trash pit on a Ft Ancient site in my area. The outside ring of Bone Beads in the 2nd tray were all found in a Post Mold that I dug through in the trash pit.

WOW! That is an awesome couple of cases. I have found a conch shell bead, some stone beads and some bone beads, some drilled teeth and some bone awls but nothing like your collection. I had 1 good bone fish hook but gave it to the landowner. Thanks for showing your cases. steve

You are welcome Steve. I have been collecting for 49 years and will actually be 50 this coming April which is when I found my first arrowhead at age 6 in 1965. I discovered 5 Ft Ancient Village sites in my area about 30 years ago and fell in love with that culture. The diversity of artifacts on their sites is unreal. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but my Ft Ancient collection has won several awards at various shows I have set it up.

I can believe that. Just those two cases are award worthy in my opinion.

very nice steve

i sure would like to crank that Indian and take it for a mean spin....all is way cool.....thanks Steve

Larson, It is a fun ride. It's a 48 Chief that I restored with a lot of help from a good friend from a very wore out bobber. I bought it in 2007 and took my first ride in 2010. It is the most comfortable riding bike that I have ever been on.
