"Vulcan" plate?

I have compressed the image and it is still too large to post. I will just describe it.
Cast iron or steel plate, appears to be some kind of molded name plate.
8 3/8" long X 3 1/2" wide X 1/4" thick
The word "Vulcan" is across the front. It can be seen from the back but backwards. On the back the word is depressed and on the front raised probably from the mold. There is a raised border around the name on the front. Found on the property of an inn that was active from the late 1700s until it was bulldozed in the 1950s.

I'd guess that you've found a part from a Vulcan stove. Vulcan stoves can be traced back to 1865. Neat find! Now you have to find the rest of the stove! Good luck hunting. Two dogs

Re: "Vulcan" plate?

I kind of thought that but when I got no reply from Vulcan I figured it was something else. How would I go about cleaning the thing up good enough that someone might want it? And how much would they want it for?
