W.F.F.D. Electrician badge / 1800's buttons / Whats-it

I got out for another 90 minute hunt today to look for CW relics. I was able to recover two 1800's buttons within a few feet of each other in an area I call "relic hill".
The only other piece I dug out there in the woods was a small piece of copper. Looks like it was maybe a pin of sorts at one time? :dontknow:
I worked my way back up to the house to an area of the yard where I've been uncovering everything from CW relics, Tootsietoys and army men, silverware, old coins, 1800's padlocks, horseshoes, etc. The sandy soil was wet and I got a good signal. About 6" down I dug a WFFD Electricians badge. :hello2: That spot never let's me down.

My finds:

*W.F.F.D. "Electrician" badge - Wake Forest Fire Dept.
Here is some history of the fire dept.:
http://www.wakeforestfire.com/-our-history.html

*Early (?) 1800's flat coat button (21mm) - "London - Double Gilt" back mark

*Early (?) 1800's flower cuff button (12mm) - "Extra Colour" back mark

*Copper whats-it :icon_scratch:

Thanks for looking, :o
MM

Oh yeah, I had a TICK on me too. Almost the end of November and those filthy little buggers are STILL out!!!

Good to see you getting out MM, Yes your two buttons are early 1800's I've found them on sites say 1800 to maybe 1840.Your other piece looks like the center keeper part of a suspender buckle to me.Being it looks to have the two little clasp on the back.Could be part of a metal/award to I guess. But I'd say suspender good bet.
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

You did well. I ilke the badge and button but I have two questions:
1. How do you get a 90 minute lunch?
2. How can Dman's baseball buckle be 1800s when he claims Babe Ruth wore it when he hit that famous reecord breaking home run?
You have had a good Fall hunting time with more to come, Q.

That's because I work TWICE as hard as the average slug. :tongue3: :laughing9:

Can't answer the Babe Ruth one. You sure Dman wasn't dreaming about eating a Babe Ruth bar? :laughing7:
Thanks Buddy,

NICE Badge Doug! The copper disk, does it have a little weight to it? Looks to be a very worn Copper coin. :dontknow: Nice finds

Awesome finds. Oh, by the way today I broke in the Silver Umax that I got from you on Monday. Did pretty well at a park. I see why you've been so successful with your Umax. It kicks but and is like swinging a feather.

I contacted the WF Museum today and they would love to have it for their fire dept. display.
At least more will be able to enjoy it that way.

Glen,
I read your reply too fast. I thought you said you BROKE the new Silver uMax. I thought maybe the wife hit you over the head with it. :tongue3: :laughing9: I'm glad you like it. I'll show you the collection of relics I've accumulated over the last 5 years using just the Silver uMax. They are awesome detectors.
We'll try to get together next week after my relatives leave. I went out for a few hours after work today but only got an 1800's underwear button, right by where I dug the two buttons yesterday.
Have a great Thanksgiving.

Interesting finds yesterday Doug! :notworthy:
I really like the Wake Forest Fire Dept. "Electrician" badge! :o

This large button is very cool!
It's amazing how much detail they put onto the back and yet left the front plain? :icon_scratch:
All the best to you and your family for a peaceful Thanksgiving Doug, :occasion14:
