Something isn't right about the article.

There is a lake wabasso in Minnesota that is about 70 feet deep.

There is no Wabassa lake in Montcalm County.

There is a Wabasis Lake in Michigan in Kent County. 57 feet deep.

There is a very large wabasis lake, in Kent county very large, i,ve fished it. However there is a little wabasis, that fits legend better. It is in Kent co .also. Greenville is in Montcalm co. Yet big wabasis just about 3 miles away in Kent.

Based on all the other articles I've read it is the big lake and the gold is burried in the bank or creek. There is quite a bit of info in historical records, enough to believe that there is gold burried near the bank of the big lake or creek. The treasure stories/legend add a lot of crap to make a better story.
