Found this point last summer. I had walked a large gravel bar for an hour or two when I decided to sit down and take in the scenery for a bit. I looked down and there it lay at my feet. Thought that was kinda strange.

The one pictured on the bottom looks like maybe another Wabesa that didn't flake the way they wanted so it was abandoned. Any opinions on either?

Hey Sidevalve! That top point does look similar to the black one that I found and posted earlier. It may be a wabesa point.

Nice find!

I don't know if I would say the top one is but the bottom one is for sure- could have been abandoned or may have been broke in use to- gotta love those Hixton points!!!!

Top one Dickson, bottom one Waubesa. Both Hopewell, not Adena, regardless of what Overstreet claims. Dickson and Waubesa are often found associated with each other.

Good call on that Matt- We don't find nearly as many of the Dickson type as the Waubesa but these and madison points are the two most commonly found types in the state.
