I found this at an 1800s homestead site and wondered if someone knows what it is. It is fairly small, only about 6" long or so. When I look at it, it reminds me of a steering component like you might see on the front end of a car, but it doesn't seem big enough for that, or really for a wagon either. I guess it could be a handle crank for something? Any thoughts? Here it is from top, bottom, and both sides.

Good ID ARC
We used one exactly like as the example growing up.
Not a everyday use-just if coffee was bought in bean and the store grinder was broke, or we forgot to grind it.
Then it become a task for us young one's to crank out the coffee.
