Today I promised the local Football Club I would find there missing cover plate/goal post socket so they could put up the goal in time for a youth match. I said it would take me 30 seconds. When I turned the machine on in the general area, I began to worry abit as it was covered in large trashy signals. I picked the most obvious one & came down straight on it first dig, within about 40 seconds, slowing up a little on my prediction:laughing7:

I then went & hunted the nearby fields (2 of them) for 2 hours 30 minutes:

3 Lead Tokens
Lead Cloth Seal
Top of a 17th C 'seal top' Spoon
Decorated Bronze Roman Pin Head
1 Scrappy
Victorian (exact date not known but I think about 1850?) Horse Artillery Button. It might be my first, but need to check.

Thanks.

They are 3 Cannons on the button.

:laughing9: Like the artillery button too! Wonder bout these lead tokens you dig. It seems they are not very common here as i had never found one and you dig them very often...

Yes they are fairly common but only in certain fields.

well you never cease to amaze us with your finds , congrats with helping the team out on the goal socket

Nice artillery button !...the lead Tokens here were used by the Romans and Medieval period, are highly prized by collectors in my country.

The Roman Lead Tokens are extremely Rare (had none), I have plenty of Medieval ones, but they carried on until about 1800 or so.

Another nice haul. You must have enough buttons to dress a regiment by now !
