I had one also 'a young one ' from 1997 - 2000 but I got drunk & sat it in the yard to get some Sun , forgot about it for 30 min & it was gone.

I looked for hours & never found it , oh well , they were born to roam.

I'm 95% sure the 'Mature. Males have darker red eyes ..

Edit.. well it seems I was wrong ..the Ladies have the darker red eyes , ill remember that.

Also I rarely pick them up anymore as to not stress them.
