Today turned out to be sort of a bummer. Dad and I had planed on going to an artifact show in Collinsville, VA. Luckily I went online last night and found out the show was cancelled. Since the show was cancelled, we decided to check out Rosseechee Springfield museum. Rosseechee Springfield has 20,000 local artifacts found by the late honorable Judge Tisdale. Tisdale is a local artifact legend. He has published books on the Occaneechee tribe. He devoted quite a bit of his life to studying the tribe and their hardship during the Bacon's rebellion. Any way..... The museum is not advertised. A google search yields little info. about the museum. However, I did find an address and business hours for the museum. The VA. State website stated the museum was open Saturday 12:00-5:00 appointments were to be made for any other day. Turns out it's an appointment only type deal every day of the week. I'm not sure why, it seems odd to me. A museum that is never open, oh well! We traveled an hour to see artifacts, instead we had to find our own. I found some busted pottery, a uniface tool, a tip to a point, a whole point in 2 pieces, a hammer stone and an odd river cobble that I initially thought was a nutting stone. Tired of reading? Here are a few pics.

Here is the odd piece. I'm pretty sure it's been altered by man. It's not a pretty piece, instead really really crude. It would put 3 knots on a mans head with one strike. Give me y'all's opinion. Is it natural? Is it a war club? Any input is welcome.

Thanks for any word you can give!!
