With the farming season fast approaching spent 2 full days detecting and one getting the new permissions. It's the time of the year where the time is precious so every minute has to be invested to feed the addiction :laughing7:

I believe the results were very decent. I hit a few new permissions with the discovery of a couple of early house sites which produced a nice selection of different coins ranging from the late 1700's to the mid 1800's.

One of my favorite finds was a very well preserved US Civil War token from 1863

An other interesting find was my first confirmed non counterfeit British Halfpenny 1799 (I have found well over a hundred of counterfeit ones).

A few Halfpenny tokens from 1812 to 1814. This one is really nice.

A big surprise was this 1827 US Large Cent. My fist one of this type. Unfortunately only one side survived well.

The only militaria I can brag about is this partial 1812 belt plate. The first one as well. Found a few feet away from last weeks shako.
20180507_092014.webp20180507_092003.webp

A large chunk of silver. Probably from an old spoon. A good 7 grams

A lead rosette.

Few crotal bells.

Decorative pieces.

And a Vicky 1859 cent. If it was brass would be worth over 20 000$ I nave no idea if it is...but I would bet it's not.

Sure hope there's more nice finds before the season ends as I can hear the tractors roar at the horizon...

Thanks for the comments.

Great stuff. Is your site 1812 or earlier? Those style plates can date earlier.

Thanks smokey. The site is earlier than 1812 but the house stood there into 1820's

Very nice finds
I like the belt plate and old coppers

Very nice array of finds-that large cent looks pretty good to me on both sides. Most are in much worse shape than yours.

Thanks. I was lucky to find it as they aren't as common here as in the US. So the condition is the bonus.

Awesome hunt, like the store card token Troy N.Y. just two miles from where I live..

Thanks park pirate. I'm curious how it got to where I'm at. Maybe someone brought it as a souvenir.

Amazing hunt! A handful of
Coppers is incredible. I found a War of 1812 shoulder strap plate like yours last year, cool find. I love the bells as well. I hope you can squeeze in a couple more hunts before your season is up. Congrats!!!!

Thanks Relific. Strangely, I was really hoping this year will bring me a plate, just spoke about recently.

Thanks. The kindest soil I have seen in a while. Not used to hunt in such ground conditions.
