That's a nice one, would love to find one of those. Lots of good plates from that era have been popping out of the ground this year.

I was totally shocked when I dug this up. It was around 4-6 inches down. I spent weeks researching this area but I was expecting Civil War era relics, but now that I found this belt plate I've got a lot more research to do. (Some times old folk tales lead to the best finds.)
