Early 1800s civilian. That is the quality mark that refers to the gilt process(which I'm sure you already know :-).
I really like the buttons with a nice back mark and some gikt left
 
I like your button, only thing I know is two piece, gold gilt, mid to late 1800's I would guess. Here is a good link, might help.

No way. Well, that explains why the Reale was right next to the buttons. I found quite a few of them. I think I found a honey hole.
 
Or however you spell it. Meaning the coin below. If those buttons were next to the coin, I would think it safe to assume it's an early 1800's site?

Just remember that people carried coins around that were minted a lot earlier sometimes. But I would def say early to mid 1800s. Hit it hard and congrats on a cool coin
 
Thanks. I'm thinking about hitting it in the rain today, because I may get a bit more depth. We will see though.
 
Hi from Ireland. Brand new Detectorist here, and ressurection this old thread. Found one of these buttons today on farmland. Not in nearly as good condition though.
