Went out Sunday with my brother to our permission land where we found several varieties of coins. Spent 2 hours covering the field across the street and found nothing but Miller Lite cans. We decided to hit a newer area next to our coin field. We parked and stepped out, turned on our machines and started walking. About 10ft from the car, I get a screaming hit and figured it was another can. This was a little higher and stayed a steady mid 30s on my Equinox 800. I dug popped the dirt out and it was deeper than I thought. A second push and turn and out popped what I thought was a worn clad quarter. Then I saw this

1846 or 48 Braided Hair Large Cent.

My oldest coin so far here in Alabama and not expected at all. I was shocked. Needless to say we are hitting this field hard this weekend!
