Banner find! I don't think I'll be able to help you pin the ID though.

Awesome find brother.....:icon_thumright:

Fredbug67 that one pictured in your link is the same type but not the same
variety , the G and the W are too close together on that one . Thank you though .

Incredible find Brother..
Sorry cant help with what one it is. Someone will though.
George

I vote banner! The difference between the buttons pictured seems minimal to me. Excellent find! Can you give some details- type of area found in- type of detector ? That had to bring a smile to your face!

Fredbug67 the button was found at an old abandon homestead foundation and i was using a DFX .

Is this the second GW button you have found? Website says you had banner for the same button in 2006? That's incredible if it's your 2nd one. I have heard that people traveled around in the 1700s selling those buttons and they were sold in groups of four- maybe there's 2 more out there!

Congrats on your second GW. I like the fact that there still appears to be some gilt left around the "Long Live The President" letters.

That one cleaned up perfect. Nice job and congrats on the find!
Have a great day!

I never got one of those,, and I voted for him.
Congrats on a rare find.

I'm not a button expert at all, but I hope it's a rare one- Congrats!!

Great job cleaning that GW, Dan. And congrats, my vote is in. Hope it does better than your coin spill!

Wow beauty button. For a minute it looked like it wasn't going to clean up well but that changed quickly! Great find, great clean-up, great show!
