Had the urge to get out and metal detect today, away from home for the first time in a long time. Really been wanting to dig up some coins rather than the iron and aluminum im getting bored to death with.
Anyways, I visited one of my permissions properties in the area which ive never been out in before. Was a little disappointed when I arrived because I found that it had been heavily excavated since I last drove by about a year ago. The real big bummer to me was the area I was intending to detect used to have a schoolhouse on it in the late 1800's and about 8-12' of soil was gone. Decided to cut my losses and work what was left of the old remaining soil washed out alongside the road in the cut bank and spotted an unintentional beauty staring right at me. 3 hours of a few pieces of foil/paper trash, 1 modern penny and my first ever point. I know where I'm going back to after the next heavy rainfall 🤣.
Not what I was intending on targeting today... but I'm content with my findings.
