Let em starve. Famine is natures way of telling prolific people's they have been irresponsible in their breeding habits.

Both are equally worthless.

You would have been more convincing if you took Bomber's approach.

I dunno man. Feeding starving human beings doesn't seem so worthless to me. It sure beats doing anything for scumbag politicians.

While I agree with the sentiment of feeding people, most of the aid gets siphoned off into people's pockets. On top of that it makes many countries dependent on the aid as opposed to helping them help themselves. nothing more than welfare.

There is a theory - which I agree with

Its called: Survival of the fittest.

A sudden tragedy is one thing - but when other countries use our aid as a way of life, then we are doing nothing but prolonging the inevitable - its welfare, plain and simple - and, like people here who make their way through life on the welfare system, it needs to stop.

If we don't want to spend our money on welfare recipients here, why would we spend it on 100 times MORE recipients in other countries?

This has nothing to do with trade - because these countries are getting our money and goods for free. We keep an accounting, but, that's about it.

If you want to talk about a welfare state, then we need to see this "help" for what it is - State Welfare. (or Country Welfare).

If we did not help, eventually, these people would either learn to support themselves or die off.

If that sounds crude, I apologize, but if you live in a country that never gets enough rain to grow crops, instead of giving them food, you build irrigation systems, and let them feed themselves.

Remember the old adage: If you teach a man to fish...............................

Totally agree on this one. I'm tired of seeing our money go to other countries that do nothing to help themselves while OUR OWN CITIZENS are poor as dirt and are starving.

thats the american way

same as corporate america stockholders want more profits from businesses so the only way to make more profit is to outsource to mexico or china if you own large stock in corporate america shame on you for selling your soul for a buck

I work for one of the largest corporations in the USA. I also own a HUGE share of stock which is going to make my retirement very nice. We don't out source. We do provide 10's of thousands of jobs in the USA and many foreign countries. You use my product every day. Thanks for helping line my pockets. When I retire in a few years with a huge bankroll, I'll toss a 40 your way..LOL.... :-*

With that said, last time I looked this forum was about COIN ROLL HUNTING.

NOT cry babies whining about where we should send our money and spitting out anti-USA crap. Do us all a favor and go find another forum.

Whaaaaa!

LOL

A few A$$es on there think I am unamerican and think calling someone Liberal is a bad thing LOL. fact is I could care less, I just like pointing to facts.

Take this one for example, Look where our own vice precedent invests his fortune, Almost all in over seas European stocks...how American is that? And how conservative is he? talk about a love for America...suck it dry Baby!

either way, for some but not enough its going the other way.
I can proudly say My %100 American Company that I Own. Employs 7 people and keeps them fed and clothed quite well and lets them enjoy a much higher standard of living than people who have to work at minimum wage jobs.
Also we sell our labor over seas and bring money INTO the USA. A good portion of our marketing is overseas, Particularly in Europe, Australia and SE Asia for high end jewelry.
how unamerican is that? taking our dollars back and useing it to pump up not only the wages of my own people but keeping the money we make in use in our community by spending everything we can on local businesses. (as well as line my own pockets with more gold and money)
Supporting community growth projects and investing in them as well.
My favorite thing to do and have been quite pleased with the results is the dozens of other small businesses I have inspired friends of mine to do build and grow and most of them have done well!

I know I talk about a lot of gloom and doom, a lot of my class mates are still working the same jobs they had in high school. The college Education they got is worthless and just seem to be going nowhere, But a few have done quite well for them selves with things such as night clubs, Bars, coffee shops, auto repair shops and even hot dog cart vendors. I must say a profit of $1500 a week selling hot dogs for a high school drop out is not bad and of course even small service based things such as maids. You would be surprised how much affluent people are willing to spend to have a maid that is not an immigrant and speaks English. Enough that they have several employees and cant fill the demand they have.

Anyone with an open mind can make decent money all on there own if they put them selves too it. A business does not have to make you millions to be "successful" if your paying your bills and have enough to enjoy what you like in life thats whats important. Sure I have had people make snide remarks when I do what I like,

I had one guy make a snide remark to me once when I was metal detecting about how I must be poor to need to do that. I just giggled and walked over to my corvette to put my things away and left. I did get to see the look on his face.

I mean I get to spend most of my time doing what I love, Looking for treasure, Weather it be CRH or metal detecting or hunting gold and gems. I only have to "work" about 3 days a week. I cant say I am rich by any standard but I can say that I can get and do anything I really want. Most important being I able to live the American dream...and not just wish I was living it like many do.

aha the village idiot jewelerdave and his commentary's

Let's do like Sam Kenison suggested.
Don't send food, send Uhauls! Move to where the food is!!!!!!

But you are rich Dave. In my opinion the person who enjoys their work and life is the wealthiest. I too enjoy my work. I am not to the point yet where I do not worry about finances, but that day will arrive I am sure. So in the meantime I enjoy my job, metal detecting, and CRH-ing to name a few things.

Happy Hunting,

Scott (MI)
