Water detector

I would like to buy a machine for water hunting, half of the time it will be used in fresh water and the other half on the beaches in Florida.Any ideas

If you are not going to detect on the wet sand or near the saltwater a Fisher 1280 will do you fine for fresh water and the dry sand. The Tiger Shark also is great. For more money you get more features. The CZ-20 or 21 is good too. Some like the BHID 300, but read my post http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,270882.0.html
The Excal is the king in my book for disc and depth.

Pulse detectors are great in saltwater and wet sand, but will drive you crazy in fresh water with all the constant digging which can get you in trouble on some beaches.

We need to know firstly what your limit is on spending.
I personally use the Minelab (explorer) Etrac on fresh and salt water beaches with no back talking.
I was amazed on it's ability to detect on salt water beaches.
