We hunted the house of Garfield's assassin...
Hey Josh(alpha105),
My brother got a book from the library on WI ghost towns(by Wm. Stark), and BAM .... on page 21 the house we hunted in Ozaukee county was pictured! It was the childhood home of Charles Guiteau, the man that shot Pres. Garfield on 7-2-1881. He lived there from c.1846 to 1851. If you look at the pics that JimB posted of the hunt you will see that it is the same house. The tree in the front yard of the (book) pic is where I found the V nickel. I remember you saying a presidential assassin lived there. Now you know who. It is a very gratifying experience to be able to add this little piece of history to our hunt.
