The weather was sunny and warm this weekend. I got out on Saturday with Smittyman and P@tch. We went to couple different spots... both former house sites. The good news is everyone found at least one silver coin, the better news is, I found 14K.
Here is a pic of Smittyman working the turf.
I flipped this plug over and was greeted with this, a shiny disc.
Turned out to be a '44 Merc.
A bit later, I got a 47 on the Deus... tin foil or can slaw, for sure. As soon as I got his in my hand, I knew it was neither!
National Honor Society 14K pin, intact and flawless! Only the third gold item that I have found in 4 years. The only thing better than 14K is the look on the faces of the other boys!
I found a few other things, like marbles, part of a bronze horse, Wheaties and a few lead pieces.
Gold is awesome, but so is spending time with like minded gentlemen, and enjoying the fresh air.
