Weekend hunt was GOOD to me with CW Belt Plate
Well first off, I know this isn't today's find but it did pop up over the weekend. We hit a spot we've been hunting for a while now and finally decided to clear some new land to detect by using our trimmer and mower. We cleared about a 20'x20' spot to get some new ground and spent about 30 minutes cleaning the surface junk (hoses, pipes, etc) out of the spot before mowing it down to the soil. Well it turned out that I would get rewarded for the efforts. A couple feet into the new spot I heard a good 80's chirp on my AT Pro through the always present iron grunts in iron audio. This site is full of rusted junk, old nails and trash. I pulled about 4-5 nails from the soil while still having a decent tone somewhere in the mix. Finally my pointer detected something in the wall of the hole, so I used my garden knife and popped a chunk of the side wall. I will let the pictures explain the rest of the story! Nothing like a rectangular brass staring you right in the face. This is my first sword belt plate. Only other plate is a US oval buckle and it's from the same site. Here's hoping for more!
